AJAYU TRANSITORIO is inspired by the Bolivian traditional celebration of Day of the Death, which celebrates the eternal, providing one day of the year for the living to be reunited with the departed.

Combining traditional Bolivian dance, Afro-Diaspora styles and contemporary dance, with atmospheric percussive world music, this work  is a performance/installation that explores the traditions, relationships with food, death and dying through the magic of Latin American traditional rituals and cultural practices.

Commissioned by Arts Council England, Dance City, Northumberland Arts Development, and Spin Arts. Supported by Kala Sangam.
